Terms and Conditions

OPUS Community Membership Terms

Welcome to OPUS Community Ltd — but we’re all friends here, so we’ll just call ourselves OPUS.

This is a space for the new era of creators — where founders move fast, think deeply, and shape culture as much as they shape companies. By joining OPUS, you’re stepping into a community that values originality, momentum, and mutual respect.

The terms below set out what you can expect from us — and what we expect from you — so we can keep building something meaningful, together.

1. Updates to These Terms

1.1 We May Update These Terms

We may occasionally change these terms, including benefits, fees, or policies, to keep pace with our community’s growth and needs.

1.2 Giving You Notice

You’ll get at least 30 days’ notice before any changes take effect. We’ll notify you through either the OPUS app, WhatsApp, email, or in person. Make sure you open our comms as it’s your responsibility to stay informed.

1.3 Changes to Membership Fees

We might adjust our fees from time to time. If we do, you’ll get 30 days’ notice (as above). New fees will apply to all members from the date they come into effect, unless we state otherwise. We may also increase fees once a year to reflect inflation or changes in our costs. If any change is considered significant (for example, a fee hike of 10% or more, or a big shift in what membership includes), see clause 1.4.

1.4 If You Don’t Agree with Major Changes

If you’re not happy with a major change, you can cancel your membership within 30 days of being notified. Just let us know in writing (an email works). We’ll end your membership within seven working days, and no further payments will be taken. If you’ve paid in advance, we’ll refund the unused portion.

1.5 What Happens If You Stay

If you continue using OPUS services (like the app, WhatsApp groups, workspace access, member perks or event invites) after the changes kick in, we’ll take that as you agreeing to the new terms.

1.6 Cancelling Your Membership

Once cancelled, all OPUS access stops. Sorry.

2. Code of Conduct

2.1 OPUS Values

Being part of OPUS means leaning in — not just for yourself, but for the collective. This is a community built on momentum, generosity, and ambition. We’re here to build things that matter, and that starts with how we engage.

  • Kindness, always – You treat people with respect, even under pressure. You show up with humility, generosity, and a mindset of mutual support.
  • Obsession with the mission – You’re here to build — and you care deeply about what you’re building. You engage with intention and offer value wherever you can.
  • Drive that doesn’t waiver – You’re committed to momentum. You take ownership, push through friction, and keep the energy high — for yourself and others.
  • Excellence as a habit – You raise the bar. You come prepared, follow through, and treat every interaction like it matters — because it does.
2.2 How We Interact

Treat others with dignity. Respect different perspectives. Celebrate diversity and act in ways that reflect our shared commitment to integrity and trust.

2.3 Respecting Each Other’s Privacy

Trust is everything here. Any info shared in confidence—whether personal, professional or strategic—should stay within OPUS unless someone gives you clear permission to share it.

2.4 Getting Permission

You need clear written consent before using, sharing or posting anyone else’s confidential information—this includes tagging them on social, introducing them to someone, or publishing their ideas.

2.5 What We Don’t Tolerate

We’re clear on this:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or unethical behaviour = grounds for removal.
  • Sharing private or proprietary member info without permission = grounds for removal.
  • Misusing OPUS resources to infringe or damage our reputation = grounds for removal.
2.6 Breaches and Consequences
  • One serious breach may result in termination.
  • Repeated breaches may result in termination.
  • We’ll always notify you in writing and give you the opportunity to respond — unless the breach warrants immediate action.

3. Privacy, Data and Confidentiality

3.1 Your Data

When you give us your data (through the app, email, WhatsApp or forms), you’re consenting to us using it to improve OPUS and keep you in the loop.

3.2 Sharing Data

By attending an event or engaging with OPUS services, you agree we may share your contact info with relevant parties and trusted partners (e.g. hosts, other attendees). This is always done to support community value and in line with UK GDPR.

3.3 Opting Out

You can opt out of this sharing by emailing team@joinopus.org. Just note that doing so might limit your community experience.

3.4 Member to Member Email Etiquette

Email marketing between members should be kept to a minimum and only sent with prior consent. Always include an opt-out.

4. Intellectual Property

All content created by OPUS — from branding to resources — is protected OPUS IP. You may not reproduce or use it commercially without written permission. Reasonable sharing to promote your OPUS involvement is allowed.

5. Who Can Join

5.1 Applying to Join

We review all applications to make sure there’s alignment with our values and community vibe. We reserve the right to accept or decline applications at our discretion.

5.2 Criminal Record Disclosures

Members must disclose any criminal record or similar background matters to the OPUS Team. These cases will be reviewed on an individual basis. OPUS reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership if the circumstances are incompatible with the safety, integrity, or ethos of the community.

5.3 Staying a Member

Once you’re in, we ask that you stay engaged, keep your account in good standing, and follow these Terms—especially the Code of Conduct.

5.4 Inactive Member Policy

If a member has not participated in the community for over six months without prior notice or explanation, OPUS reserves the right to review and potentially revoke membership. Staying engaged is key to getting the most out of the community and keeping the ecosystem thriving.

6. Disclaimers

6.1 Things Might Go Wrong

We aim for smooth service, but can’t guarantee uninterrupted access—things like maintenance, emergencies, or outages may happen.

6.2 No Promises

OPUS offers opportunities, not guarantees. What you achieve is up to you.

6.3 Legal Limits

We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses — including lost income or data — arising from your use of or inability to access OPUS, as permitted by law.

7. Third-Party Stuff

We may link to other websites or platforms. We’re not responsible for those services or what they do with your info. Use them at your own risk.

8. If Things Go Wrong

8.1 Covering OPUS

If your actions cause legal issues, claims, or costs for OPUS (e.g. breaching terms, violating someone’s rights), you agree to cover us, including legal fees.

8.2 This Stays in Place

This indemnification continues survives the end of your membership.

8.3 How We’ll Handle It

We’ll let you know if something comes up and discuss next steps.

8.4 Financial Limits

Our total liability is limited to what you’ve paid us in the past 12 months.

8.5 Uncontrollable Events

We’re not liable if something out of our control stops us from delivering services (e.g. pandemics, natural disasters, government action, tech failures).

9. Payments, Refunds and Termination

9.1 Refunds

Membership fees are non-refundable except where there’s a significant change (see clause 1.4). Refunds beyond that are at our discretion.

9.2 Payment Collection Attempts

If a payment fails — due to card issues, insufficient funds, or otherwise — we’ll keep trying to collect it using the method on file. Unless you formally cancel in writing, you’re still liable for any outstanding payments, and we’ll continue to collect until they’re resolved.

9.3 Late Payments

Missed payments get a 2-week grace period. After that, your membership and benefits are paused. After 60 days, your membership will be terminated and you’ll need to reapply. If something’s going on — please talk to us, we’re human.

10. Legal Stuff

10.1 Jurisdiction

These terms follow the laws of England and Wales. If there’s ever a dispute, it’ll be handled by the courts here.

10.2 Termination Rights

OPUS reserves the right to cancel memberships due to unpaid fees, serious breaches of these terms, harmful behaviour, or conduct that undermines the community’s safety and values.

By agreeing to these terms, you’re committing to help make OPUS the inspiring, inclusive and impactful community we’re all building together.
